The Middle Animal is a photographic series that invites the viewer to reconsider the way we perceive the animals who share our world. It seeks to place them at the forefront of our attention, where they often remain in the periphery of our daily lives. The series juxtaposes animals in both the freedom of the wild and the confines of captivity, exploring the contrasts between autonomy and restraint. Through this work, I wish to underscore the intrinsic dignity of all creatures, reminding us that they are not mere background figures but living beings deserving of our respect, compassion, and stewardship. In bringing them to the center of our gaze, The Middle Animal calls for a deeper reflection on our responsibility toward the animal kingdom, urging us to embrace a more harmonious coexistence.
